Meet our Volunteer Coordinator Tasha Powers!
Tasha Powers joined us as the Volunteer Coordinator in June of 2016. It took Lori years to get her to come aboard, and one day, out of the blue, Tasha called and said she was ready – it was just about the time that the position came open! Tasha’s background is in teaching – she grew up in Whitefish and got her college degree at Concordia University in Nebraska. She spent four years teaching In Aurora, CO before moving back to Montana. Tasha says that being the Volunteer Coordinator at Flathead Food bank allows her to use her teaching degree in a broader capacity, working with people of all ages. She loves seeing lives transformed, not only the lives of our customers, but also our volunteers, as they serve and learn about the food bank and its mission.
When Tasha isn’t at the Flathead Food Bank, you will find her having fun with her family – they love spending time on a lake in their kayaks, and hiking to beautiful destinations everywhere! Being this close to Glacier Park enables them endless opportunities and we love hearing about her adventures, which sometimes include bears and other times just sore feet!
Tasha has been a wonderful addition to our team. When asked what being on the Flathead Food Bank team means to her, she responds “it is simple! I get to help people every day!”
